Lake Arrowhead holds many summer memories in my book. Growing up, I’d come here regularly on family getaways and for church retreats. When coming here with family, we always stayed at the same cabin each time. It almost became like a home away from home. When I found myself searching for places to eat around here during my recent visit, I realized that I don’t really recall ever eating at restaurants during my past visits. Our cabin stays always included home cooked meals, whether it was made in the cabins or premade and brought over. I don’t think I have ever dined at any of restaurants in the vicinity. I was wishing I had one of those “I come to this restaurant each time I come here. I won’t leave without a visit” places, but I didn’t.
My recent visit to Lake Arrowhead was only for a day. It was lovely despite the fact that I went home starving at the end of the night.
It was the first time coming here since I don’t know when. Without an ice box full of food items to cook or ready to eat, things just didn’t feel the same. This meant going out to eat was the only option. Does anyone have any clue of where to eat at Lake Arrowhead? I’d love to find out for my next ice box-free getaway. Starvation did not help with the ability to Yelp at the time. It was one of those “eat at the nearest place you stumble upon” kind of moments.
I can’t exactly remember if Lake Arrowhead Village was the place we always stopped by during our visits. It seems like the place, but I am not exactly sure. In my head, it was a fun place to stop by while there. But this time, it just seems like an ordinary rest stop. Funny how perception changes and don’t live up to your memories, huh?
I actually ended up making a purchase. I was digging the Raccuccino (their version of cappuccino) toffee sample, so that’s what I got!
It’s not exactly cheap. I could make it at home for cheaper, but toffee is something I might make once a year. I mean, it is easy to make, but for me, I just have to really be in the mood to make it to make it. I knew that mood wasn’t going to come around any time soon (probably not until the holidays or so). And I was digging it, so I got it.
