After a busy (Fri/Sat) weekend at the restaurant, it was pretty slow tonight. We started the night with only four reservations. We had some walk-ins and then a couple more reservations later. Preeeeeety slow!~ When it is pretty slow, we usually catch up on prep/prep ahead what we can and spend time cleaning and organizing the kitchen. But tonight, it seemed like everyone all the prep work done, the kitchen was fairly well maintained, and there was basically not too much to do. We almost never get these kinds of nights. There is always something to do.
Last night was pretty busy. And I guess there was not too much time to spend time on the family meal. The guy who was making it cooked some chorizo and served that by itself lol. No starch or veggies or anything to go with it. Well, he did make a salad. But it was a bit eh to have just cut up pieces of chorizo. I just waited until I got home and had some of the leftover Kimchi Jjigae from the other night.
I mean, it is not really something that takes TOO much time or effort, but considering how pressed for time we usually are, something like this would have probably been a bit of a stretch on a super busy night.
I gave some persimmons to my boss. And I cannot believe he doesn’t love persimmons as much as I do. I guess he uses them for something else. He leaves the skin on and slices them thinly for some dish he makes. I think he flavors them too. Me..I peel, cut them into eights, and munch. “It tastes like sugared turnips,” he said. LOL I don’t know. It must be an Asian thing to eat persimmons the way I do. Is it??
